What is Adult Tertiary Preparation?
The Adult Tertiary Preparation course is specifically designed for people who want to study at university, but do not have the entrance rank they need to gain entry.
The Certificate IV in Adult Tertiary Preparation will give you a tertiary rank (OP) and help you fulfill the subject prerequisites for university entry.
Register now to attend the next ATP information night on Tuesday, 28 November 2017. The sessions will be run at Caboolture, Loganlea and South Bank campuses from 5.30pm – 7.00pm.
Why study ATP?
1. Get an entry score for uni
You can achieve an entrance rank between 74 (OP 12 equivalent) and 91 (OP 4 equivalent) when you graduate. In fact, you can boost your rank up to 98 (OP 2 equivalent) if you also sit QTAC’s Special Tertiary Admissions Test.
2. Tick off your uni prerequisites
Complete all the prerequisite units you need to gain entrance to your preferred university course.
3. Class flexibility
We know you have other commitments such as work, family, and hobbies. You can fit your studies around your other commitments. You can also choose to study full time or part time.
4. Study with like-minded adults
Your classmates will be people just like you. ATP isn’t like high school at all. It’s an adult learning environment where you will always be respected and supported.
5. Free STAT test
The Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) is a 2 hour multiple choice test administered by QTAC designed to test your capability of undertaking tertiary study. It usually costs $149, but if you study with us at Caboolture, Loganlea or South Bank, you can sit it for free!
6. QTAC application help
You’ll receive a QTAC application voucher to help ease the cost of applying for your university course, as well as assistance submitting your application.
7. Free career advice
Furthering your education opens up so many more career pathways for you. Our career advisers are on hand to explain your options and connect you with the right people to get you on the path the success.
8. Easily accessible by transport
TAFE Queensland Brisbane campuses are based in areas that are well-serviced by public transport. South Bank and Loganlea both sit closely to bus and train networks, and we have teamed up with QUT in Caboolture to provide a free shuttle bus for all our students between Caboolture station and the campus. This service operates every half hour on weekdays during semester.
